Second Half Push Not Enough for Crusaders vs Ozarks

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team lost their non-conference matchup with University of the Ozarks 65-59 this evening.

It was a tight contest in the first quarter, a three pointer the only thing really separating the two sides as Dallas went 0-4 from beyond the arc in the period.  The Crusaders had a 13-12 lead going into the final seconds of the quarter, but Brittany Temple made a buzzer-beater three from the center logo to give the Eagles the lead.

Things were bumpy for the Crusaders in the second quarter; they shot just 23.5% as a team, only making four field goals the entire period.  The Eagles were able to pad their lead by shooting 52.9% in the second quarter, leading 35-27 at the half.

The Crusaders outscored the Eagles in the entire second half, but couldn't quite do enough to overcome the deficit.  The Eagles nearly matched them point for point in the third quarter as both offenses were firing on all cylinders, and they went cold with their shooting in the fourth quarter after holding the Ozarks to just 25% shooting.

Imani Hardin lead the team with her first double-double of the season, notching 13 points and 14 rebounds.  Alyssa Sullivan was two boards from a double-double herself, recording 10 points with eight rebounds.
