DeCoud earns All-SCAC 2nd Team; Stoia also gains All-SCAC Selection

GEORGETOWN, Texas – On Saturday, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) released the All-SCAC Women's Basketball Teams. The University of Dallas had a pair of recipients. Headlining the duo was Michelle DeCoud (Monument, Colo.) on the Second Team. Seana Stoia (Tulsa, Okla.) was named on the Honorable Mention listing.

DeCoud has been named to an All-Conference team in all three seasons of her career, and gained another All-SCAC Second Team appearance. Her freshman year, the forward garnered a spot in addition to her Newcomer of the Year accolade.

DeCoud tallied 12 double-doubles (team-best) to boast several career performances this season as she led the squad in scoring (15.3 points-per-game), rebounding (10.3 average), and blocked shots (57). The junior cracked the top five in scoring average (4th), rebounds-per-game (2nd), and field goal percentage (50.6 - 3rd) throughout most of the campaign. Her record-breaking 57 blocks led the SCAC and helped the Crusaders as a team set a single-season record for blocked shots (92).

Stoia picked up an SCAC All-Conference award for consecutive seasons. The senior capped her career with personal bests in field goals (109), field goal percentage (46.4), total points (345), points-per-game (13.3), rebounds (195), and blocks (7). Her scoring average ranked 2nd on the squad and was the only one besides DeCoud to achieve averaging double figures. In the Conference, Stoia ranked 4th in three-point field goal percentage (37.8) and shifted within the top five throughout the year.

Stoia became just the 6th player in program history to achieve both 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds. Her 1,037 points rank 11th all-time, as she became the 13th player to eclipse 1,000 points earlier this month at Southwestern University (February 10). Stoia is one-of-nine UD players to grab at least 500 boards in her career. She concludes her time at Dallas ranked 6th (568).
