Stoia earns 2nd SCAC Player of the Week this Year

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Seana Stoia (Tulsa, Okla.) earned the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, December 11th. It is the second time in the past three weeks the forward has claimed the accolade. It is also the senior's third time in her career to garner the award. She last won it in 2013-14 for week four (December 9).

The Crusaders only played once last week, but Stoia's performance was crucial in extending the team's longest winning streak since 2013-14 in a 57-46 victory at Dallas Christian College. Stoia led the team with 23 points and tied a team-high 13 rebounds. Her scoring total was fueled by 7-of-12 field goal shooting and she added a 9-for-10 shooting clip at the charity stripe. Stoia's total number on the boards was a season-high.

Stoia has now recorded double-doubles in her last four contests. This includes breaking double-digits in rebounds during the quartet. She has eclipsed double figures in scoring all but once this season and missed the mark by a point in the season opener. Stoia remains the team leader in scoring with 115 points and is averaging 16.4 per game. Her scoring average improved her to a tie for fourth in the league, and she remains second in three-point percentage (47.1).

Stoia's success has helped lift Dallas to a six-game winning streak. The Crusaders begin SCAC play this Friday at Colorado College for a 6:30 p.m. MST (5:30 CST) tip.
