Women's Basketball Routes Southern Adventist on Wednesday

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas women's basketball team (3-1) triumphed 92-43 on Wednesday evening versus Southwestern Adventist University (0-6). Dallas totaled a season-high in scoring output and remained unblemished in the Maher Athletic Center following the massive victory.

The Lady Crusaders were in control jumping out to a 19-2 edge in the opening minutes of the contest, which included a span of 15 consecutive points. The home squad shot 39 percent heading into the break, and was in front 41-13.

Sophomore Lindsey Gendron (Houston, Texas) went three-for-five behind the three-point arc as the majority of her team-leading 11 points in the frame occurred from there. Fellow classmate Holly Tonry (Seattle, Wash.) dished out a season-best seven assists in the first 20 minutes of the affair.

In the second half, a similar scene was produced for the navy and white in the team's largest margin that just topped the difference when these programs met in the previous season on December 11 at Keene, Texas. That final result favored UD by a 48-point amount.

16 players earned minutes on the court tonight, and 12 of them marked the scoring column in the route.

Dallas outshot the Knights 43.4 percent and shot 9-of-22 from behind the arc for a 40.9 clip. SWAU completed the game posting a 24.6 mark from the floor. The Lady Crusaders were outrebounded 39-35, but forced 17 turnovers while only committing six.

The stat of the night was the amount of assists UD claimed by the final buzzer, which was 23, a team-most on the early campaign.

Gendron notched a game-high 16 points while sophomore Seana Stoia (Tulsa, Okla.) contributed 12. Rounding out the trio of the double-digit scoring unit was teammate Sammi Tso (Las Vegas, Nev.) at 11.

Tonry pulled down eight rounds to match her total in points and finished with seven assists, while senior Brooke Hagemann (Oklahoma City, Okla.) and freshman Tiffany Nisterenko (Shingle Springs, Calif.) tossed in seven and six boards, respectively.

Nisterenko capped an impressive slate with a personal-high nine points.
