Trinity tops @UDallasWBB, 68-58

SAN ANTONIO - The University of Dallas women's basketball team (11-8, 3-5 SCAC) lost 68-58 to Trinity University (15-4, 7-1 SCAC) on Friday evening at Sams Gymnasium.

Each team led four times in the first-half. The Lady Tigers seized the lead for good -- with 2:23 to go in the opening frame -- before taking a half-high eight-point (34-26) advantage into halftime.

Hannah Coley scored 14 of her game-high 24 points in the initial half for Trinity.

Coley finished 9-of-12 from the field and 5-of-7 from 3-point land. She added four rebounds, six assists, a block and a steal in 33 minutes on the court.

Head coach Jina Johansen's squad twice pulled to within one point of tying the game in the second-half, but could not tip the scales in their favor.

With 2:08 left in regulation, Trinity took a game-high 16-point (68-52) lead. 

Anecia Richardson tallied 15 points and 10 rebounds (two offensive) for the Lady Tigers. Her teammate Libby Kruse also had a double-double -- 10 points and 13 boards (two offensive). 

Junior forward Brooke Hagemann (Oklahoma City, Okla.) achieved a team-high 12 points in 34 minutes of play for the navy and white.

Senior post Christy Allen (Burton, Mich.) contributed 10 points and 11 rebounds (three offensive) for a double-double of her own.

In the 10-point defeat, the Lady Crusaders were outrebounded (45-34). They dropped points in the paint (28-18).

Dallas combats Southwestern (9-10, 5-3 SCAC) in a 6 p.m. tip-off on Saturday in Georgetown, Texas.
