Southwestern slows @UDallasWBB, 76-45

GEORGETOWN, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team (11-9, 3-6 SCAC) was defeated 76-45 by Southwestern University (10-10, 6-3 SCAC) on Saturday evening.

The Lady Pirates set the tone early, managing an eight-point (11-3) lead, 5:06 into the game. Dallas then countered with a 9-0 run to go ahead 12-11, with 12:26 remaining in the first-half.

Southwestern proceeded to outscore the navy and white by a 28-8 margin to take a half-high 19-point (39-20) advantage into the break.

Chelsea Leeder converted a 3-pointer, with 13:03 left in regulation, to give her team a game-high 33-point (59-26) lead.

Leeder scored 13 of her game-high 19 points in the second-half for the Lady Pirates. She added 11 rebounds (two offensive), three assists, three blocks and a steal in 24 minutes on the court.

Annie Bourne also recorded a double-double -- 18 points and 10 rebounds (two offensive) -- for Southwestern.

Christy Allen accomplished this fete as well, as the only student-athlete to enter double-figure scoring for head coach Jina Johansen's squad. 

The senior post provided 16 points and 12 rebounds (six offensive) in 28 minutes of play.

In the 31-point defeat, the Lady Crusaders were 1-of-19 (5.3 percent) from 3-point range and outrebounded (50-45).

Dallas hosts Texas Lutheran University (15-5, 7-2 SCAC) in an 8 p.m. tip-off on Friday.
