@UDallasWBB corrals Centenary (LA), 74-61

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team (9-3, 2-0 SCAC) garnered a 74-61 victory over Centenary College of Louisiana (0-10, 0-1 SCAC) on Friday evening at the Maher Athletic Center.

The Lady Crusaders started the game on a 10-0 run -- and led by as many as 16 points in the first-half -- before taking a 35-24 advantage into the break.

Dallas grew their 11-point halftime lead into a game-high 21-point (55-34) margin, with 9:35 remaining in the contest.

Lizzie Moran recorded 17 of her game-high 23 points in the second-half for Centenary. She managed seven 3-pointers, four rebounds, an assist, a block and three steals in 36 minutes on the court.

Her efforts sparked Centenary to an 11-4 run down the stretch, but head coach Jina Johansen's squad turned-in a 13-point win.

Holly Tonry (Seattle, Wash.) tallied a team-high 14 points for the navy and white. The freshman guard also had four rebounds, five assists and three steals in 27 minutes of play.

Senior post Christy Allen (Burton, Mich.) and junior forward Brooke Hagemann (Oklahoma City, Okla.) rounded-out double-figure scorers for Dallas. The duo accounted for 12 and 11 points, respectively, while Allen tacked-on 11 rebounds (three offensive) to achieve a double-double.

Briana Edwards contributed 10 points for Centenary.

The Lady Crusaders outrebounded their conference foe (49-41). They also established notable positive margins in points-off-turnovers (24-10), points in the paint (46-18), fast-break points (18-5) and bench points (23-15).

Dallas hosts Austin College (6-5, 1-0 SCAC) in a 4 p.m. tip-off on Sunday.
