Marleyna Bustamante balloted to 2013-14 All-SCAC Women's Basketball 'Third Team'

SAN ANTONIO - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) has named University of Dallas junior guard Marleyna Bustamante (Donna, Texas) to the 2013-14 All-SCAC Women's Basketball Third Team.

This honor is bestowed upon Bustamante, following a 14-13 (5-9 SCAC) season by the Lady Crusaders.

Head coach Jina Johansen's squad entered the 2013-14 SCAC Championship Tournament as the No. 6 seed.

The navy and white defeated No. 6 seed Southwestern University by a score of 66-58 in the SCAC quarterfinals, before falling 60-54 to host-school Trinity University in the semifinals.

Bustamante, a 5-foot-5 three-year letterwinner, finished with a league-best 81 steals in the 2013-14 season. 

She also notably had a 72.8 free-throw percentage (12th), 75 converted free throws (14th), 109 made field goals (14th), 305 points (15th), 11.3 points per game (15th), 58 assists (19th) and 41 offensive rebounds (20th).
