Yoshimura tabs game-high 19 points, but Women's Basketball falls 60-50 to Austin College
SHERMAN, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team (6-9, 1-6 SCAC) fell 60-50 to Austin College on Friday evening at Hughey Gym, as the Lady Crusaders converted just 27.6-percent from the field.
Austin (8-10, 2-6 SCAC) held a 31-19 halftime advantage, after the Lady 'Roos made 11-of-23 (47.8 percent) from the floor in the first half.
Senior guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City, Calif.) tallied 15 of her game-high 19 points in the second-half to help Dallas outscore Austin 31-29 in the period.
Brooke Hagemann (Oklahoma City, Okla.) also scored in double figures, as the sophomore guard ended with 16 points.
Head coach Jina Johansen's squad netted 14-of-18 from the free-throw line in the second half, but Brittany Stepanski's double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds) helped the Lady 'Roos to a 10-point triumph.
Austin achieved a 24-2 bench-points advantage and outrebounded Dallas 43-31 for the game.
The Lady Crusaders forced their counterpart into 22 turnovers and finished with a 19-5 points-off-turnovers margin.
