Southwestern stymies Women's Basketball in second-half to earn 84-55 decision
GEORGETOWN, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team (5-7, 0-4 SCAC) suffered an 84-55 defeat to Southwestern University on Saturday evening, as the Lady Crusaders were outscored by 27 in the second half.
Dallas trailed only 36-34 at the break, but things went awry in the second-half for head coach Jina Johansen's squad.
Southwestern (10-4, 4-0 SCAC) dictated play in the final period, and tabbed a game-high 30-point lead with 4:30 remaining in regulation.
The Lady Pirates converted 18-of-36 (50 percent) in the half, while holding Dallas to 7-of-34 (20.6 percent) on their way to a 29-point win.
Chelsea Leeder produced a game-high 21 points for Southwestern, who outrebounded the Lady Crusaders 47-36.
Emily Madden (Torrington, Wyo.) tabbed a team-high 12 points for Dallas, while fellow sophomore guard Brooke Hagemann (Oklahoma City, Okla.) contributed 10.

Dallas will host Colorado College (2-12, 2-2 SCAC) on Friday, Jan. 11, in an 6 p.m. tip-off at the Maher Athletic Center.
