Women's Basketball falls 66-53 on road to LeTourneau University

LONGVIEW, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team (5-5, 0-2 SCAC) fell 66-53 to LeTourneau University on Monday afternoon at Solheim Arena, as the Lady Crusaders converted just 29-percent from the field.

The score entering halftime was 25-25 after both team's shot a mere 29-percent in the initial half. 

LeTourneau (6-6, 3-3 SCAC) netted 17-of-41 (41.5 percent) in the second-half to dish Dallas a 13-point defeat. 

Andrea Ashley finished with a game-high 21 points and 15 rebounds (seven offensive) to lead the Lady YellowJacket charge. 

The Lady Crusaders were outrebounded 32-17 in the second-half and 57-35 for the game. LeTourneau claimed points-off-turnovers (17-9), points-in-the-paint (40-24), second-chance points (20-2) and bench points (21-14). 

Senior guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City, Calif.) tabbed a team-high 16 points and five assists for Dallas, while junior post Christy Allen (Burton, Mich.) and sophomore guard Christina Kurt (Katy, Texas) each contributed 12 points.

Dallas resumes conference-play with a 6 p.m. tip-off versus Trinity University (7-4, 2-0 SCAC) on Friday, Jan. 4, in San Antonio.
