Women's Basketball starts slowly, suffers 63-53 road defeat to Millsaps College (MS)

JACKSON, Miss. - The University of Dallas women's basketball team (5-4, 0-2 SCAC) has dropped three consecutive games, following a 63-53 loss to Millsaps College on Wednesday afternoon at the Hangar Dome.

Dallas entered the break down 31-19 after Millsaps (4-4) connected on 4-of-8 first-half perimeter hoists.

Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City, Calif.) turned it on in the second half, wherein the senior guard compiled 19 of her game-high 26 points.

Yoshimura's 9-of-11 second-half effort from the free-throw line helped Dallas pull to within six points with 12:01 remaining.

A 14-4 run soon thereafter by Millsaps put the game out of reach, and a ten-point loss ensued for head coach Jina Johansen's team.

Makayla Roberson paced to a team-high 23 points for the Lady Majors, while junior post Christy Allen (Burton, Mich.) amassed 12 points for Dallas.

Millsaps forced the Lady Crusaders into 24 turnovers and claimed advantages in points-off-turnovers (24-10), points in the paint (26-12), second-chance points (13-4) and bench points (16-8).
