MARSHALL, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team (0-2) fell to East Texas Baptist University (ETBU), 69-60, on Wednesday afternoon.

In a topsy-turvy first-half, seeing seven lead-changes and an eventual 30-30 halftime score, Dallas shot 28.1 percent (9-of-32) from the field, while ETBU (1-0) made 42.3 percent (11-of-26) of their attempted field-goals.

At the break, ETBU's Enid Sanchez led all scorers, amassing 12 points, while Dallas' 5-foot-6 freshman guard Lauren Jumaoas (Carrollton, Texas/Newman Smith H.S.) had nine points.

Hitting a cold-spell in the second half, Jumaoas finished the game with nine-points on 3-of-10 shooting from the field, with all of her field-goals coming from 3-point range. She also tallied two assists and a steal in 38-minutes of work.

To begin the second-half of play, ETBU came out like barn-burners, as the Lady Tigers clawed to a 12-point advantage 4:28 into the period.

At the 8:42-mark of the second half, 5-foot-5 freshman guard Marleyna Bustamante (Donna, Texas/Pharr-San-Juan-Alamo H.S.) trimmed the ETBU lead to three-points with a converted layup, assisted by 5-foot-4 junior guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City, Calif./Mark Keppel H.S.).

Bustamante accounted for an eye-opening 18 of the 30-points Dallas scored in the second half. She finished with a game-high 22-points on 4-of-15 shooting from the field, including 0-of-3 shooting beyond the arc, but sank 14-of-16 from the free-throw line. Bustamante was also credited with three rebounds (one offensive), one assist and four steals in 38-minutes of play.

Meanwhile, Yoshimura's stat-line included a four-point 2-of-7 day from the field. Yoshimura had a rebound, six assists and a steal, before fouling-out with 4:31 remaining in the contest. Her foul troubles limited her playing-time to 21 minutes.

After some back-and-forth, ETBU was able to pull away to a 69-60 victory, with the Lady Tigers swelling their lead to as many as 11-points in the second half.
