Women's Basketball edged by Trinity University Tigers

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The University of Dallas women's basketball team (12-12) was defeated on Saturday evening by the Trinity University Tigers, 61-59. 

Sophomore guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City, Calif./Mark Keppel H.S.) nabbed a team-high 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field, including sinking 3-of-7 from behind the arc and 2-of-3 from the free throw line. Yoshimura also had eight assists, six steals, and three rebounds. 

Three other Lady Crusaders entered double figure scoring on the night -- freshman forward Christy Allen (Burton, Mich./St. Thomas More Academy), junior guard Kelly Regan (Plano, Texas/John Paul II H.S.) and senior forward Cara Sczepanski (Highland Village, Texas/Marcus H.S.). 

Allen amassed 16 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field, in addition to grabbing eight rebounds. Regan had 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field, and also had 10 rebounds for the double double. Sczepanski finished the game with 11 points on 4-of-12 shooting from the floor, while going 3-for-4 from the charity stripe. 

Dallas fared well in terms of field goal percentage, shooting 47.1 percent (24-for-51) for the game, while holding Trinity to 33.3 percent (19-of-57). The Lady Crusaders' problems, however, rested at the free throw line, at they were 6-of-10, while the Tigers made 18-of-24.
