Women's Basketball shuts down Sul Ross State

The University of Dallas Women's basketball team (1-1) won their first game of the season, Friday night, against Sul Ross State University, 89-52. The game marks UD's first of two games in the University of Dallas Tip-Off Classic.

The Lady Crusaders were led by senior forward Cara Sczepanski's (Highland Village, Texas/Marcus H.S.) game-high 28 points.

Defensively, senior center Joirdan Cole (Plano, Texas/Bishop Lynch H.S.) and freshman guard Kristy Mooring (Antonito, Colo./Casa Grade H.S.) tied the team high with three assists each, while junior guard Kelly Regan (Plano, Texas/John Paul II H.S.) led with 11 rebounds, eight of which were on the defensive end.

Dallas looks to eclipse .500 on Saturday afternoon, when they take on McMurry University at 4:00 p.m. in the Maher Athletic Gym. Come witness history, as Sczepanski is 13 points shy of 1,500 for her career.
