Sczepanski, Yoshimura Honored as UD Women’s Basketball Starts Pulling in Hardware

Junior forward Cara Sczepanski (Highland Village, TX/Marcus H.S.) and freshman guard Kyle Yoshimura (Temple City, CA/Mark Keppel H.S.) were recently honored by two groups for their exploits on the basketball court. Sczepanski was named a first team All-American by the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), and a second team All-Conference member by the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC). Yoshimura was also named to the NEAC All-Conference second team.

After the season Sczepanski holds the school career records for points (1,437), free throws (418), field goals (507), and field goal percentage (46.4), and currently ranks third in rebounds with 631 (224 offensive). She also has the single season record for rebounds with 270 and games played at 28, both established this year, and ranks in the top ten in blocks (50), steals (138), and free throw percentage (74.9). Yoshimura holds the single season assist record with 141 and shares the season games record with Sczepanski.
