Women’s Basketball Wins Home Finale, Improves to 13-12

In the final home and regular season game of the season, the University of Dallas women's basketball team held of the late surging Trinity University Tigers for the 62-61. UD opened up a 34-24 lead at the break before the Tigers pawed their way back into the game before losing by one.

The 13-12 Dallas women were led in scoring by freshman guard Kylie Yoshimura (Temple City, CA/Mark Keppel H.S.) who registered 20 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals. Yoshimura shot 6-11 from the field including 3-5 from beyond the arc. Right behind Yoshimura was junior guard Bethany Roessler (Phoenix, AZ/Xavier College Prep) who scored 14 points, 9 above her season average. She also hauled down 4 rebounds, dished out 3 assists, and recorded 4 steals. Junior forward Cara Sczepanski (Highland Village, TX/Marcus H.S.) was also in double figures with 13 points. Her 7 rebounds tied for the team lead with junior forward/center Joirdan Cole (Plano, TX/Bishop Lynch H.S.). Sczepanski also led the team with 4 assists, and registered 1 block and 1 steal.
