Dallas Women Cruise to Win in Irving South

Behind a pro Dallas crowd of approximately 40 friends and family members, UD jumped out to a 44-13 halftime lead before coming out of Saturday's matchup against La Sierra University with a 69-30 win.  The win pushed UD's record to 11-11 before Sunday's game against the Chapman University Panthers.  Dallas shot 43.9 percent from the field in running out to the big lead before coming back to earth slightly to finish the game shooting 41.5 percent.  UD also shot 82.4 percent from the charity stripe.

Junior forward Cara Sczepanski (Highland Village, TX/Marcus H.S.) led the team in scoring with 19 points, and junior forward/center Joirdan Cole (Plano, TX/Bishop Lynch H.S.) also finished in double digits with 12 points.  Sczepanski tied for the team lead with 7 rebounds and notched a team high 5 steals.  Cole made her mark on the defensive end with 3 blocks and 3 steals.  Freshman guard Hannah Barrera (San Antonio, TX/St. Antony's Catholic H.S.) tied Sczepanski with 7 boards 3 steals and 1 block.

Next up for the 11-11 Crusaders is a match up with fellow DIII independent Chapman University.  The Sunday, February 14 in Orange, CA starts at 1:00pm.
