Crusaders Blanked by TLU

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas softball team lost their series opener against Texas Lutheran on Friday, falling to 3-13 on the year and 0-3 in conference play.

Dallas 0, Texas Lutheran 15 (5 Innings)

WP: Ashlyn Strother (8-0)

LP: SunnyDale Thies (3-6)

The Bulldogs were in the driver's seat from start to finish, though SunnyDale Thies did well to get through the top of the lineup unscathed in the first inning.

That would be about the only bright spot of the game for Dallas, as they found themselves on the wrong end of an abbreviated perfect game by Ashlyn Strother.  The Crusaders sent 15 batters to the plate, and all 15 were retired in order.

The Bulldogs made great use of their speed and repeatedly put the ball in the narrowest of gaps to score 15 runs on 16 hits, only notching two extra-base hits in the game and ending the game in five innings.

The series will conclude tomorrow, March 23 with a double header at 12 noon.
