Duenas (2nd Team); Stevenson (Honorable Mention) make it for Dallas on All-SCAC Teams

SHREVEPORT, La. – On Friday, April 26, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) released the 2019 All-Conference Softball team. Julie Duenas (Houston, Texas) was named to the All-SCAC Second Team for third base. Caitlyn Stevenson (Henderson, Nev.) received the nod for Honorable Mention.

This is the second year that Duenas has been placed on an All-SCAC Team, earning an honorable mention nod in her freshman campaign.

Duenas has been the leader offensively for the Crusaders with a .430 batting average that ranks third in the conference. She also has clobbered four home runs to tie for fourth in the league. 52 hits for the sophomore mark a career-high and lift her to a tie for second all-time in the program for a single-season total of hits. She is tied with Jessica Mollner and Amber Adams in 2009 with 52. Duenas adds seven doubles and a team-leading 24 RBI.

Stevenson has been a staple at shortstop for the Crusaders with 38 starts in just as many appearances. The sophomore topped her personal-most in hits by one with her 40th in Friday's game in the SCAC Tournament. Stevenson has totaled four doubles, a team-high three triples, and a pair of long balls. Her 10 RBI are tied third on the squad and she has scored a team-leading 26 runs. Stevenson has gone 6-for-7 in base steals, which is also most on the squad.
