Avery Finch tabbed to 2014 @SCAC_Sports Softball 'All-Tournament Team'

SEGUIN, Texas - University of Dallas freshman utility player Avery Finch (Jamul, Calif.) has been named by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) to the 2014 SCAC All-Tournament Team.

The team was voted on by SCAC coaches and announced following the conclusion of the championship game on Sunday.

Finch is Dallas' only honoree, while Texas Lutheran University -- the 2014 SCAC Champions -- placed a high-mark of seven student-athletes on the team.

The 5-foot-4 left-hander played center field throughout the tournament for the sixth-seeded Lady Crusaders.

Finch tallied five hits from 16 at-bats over the course of three games, and is the only player to be listed at the utility position.

Dallas went 1-2 in the double-elimination format. The navy and white achieved a 4-0 victory over fifth-seeded Austin College, but fell 2-1 and finally 4-3 to third-seeded Southwestern University.

Finch ended the season with a .317 batting average in 120 at-bats for first-year head coach Beth Krysiak's squad.

Her 17 stolen bases are third-best among all SCAC participants.
