IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas softball team (0-2) was defeated 8-1 and then 7-0 by George Fox University (4-0) on Sunday afternoon at Crusader Field.

The doubleheader marked first-year head coach Beth Krysiak's debut with the navy and white.

GM 1: George Fox 8, Dallas 1 (F/7): Box Score

The Bruins' bats posted three first-inning runs off of junior right-handed pitcher Ashley Pickert (Lenexa, Kan.).

Pickert (0-1) surrendered four runs (two earned) from three hits and two walks in one-and-one-third innings on the bump.

She was relieved in the second inning by freshman right-hander Katherine Lee (Houston, Texas).

Lee went the distance for the Lady Crusaders, and accumulated five strikeouts over five-and-two-thirds innings.

George Fox, however, tallied two runs in each the fifth and seventh frames to put the game out of reach.

Baylee Westrick recorded a two-run home run to left field in the fifth inning.

The third baseman batted-in four runs and produced three hits.

Freshman left-fielder Lyda Tesauro (Hollywood, Fla.) scored Dallas' lone run, a seventh-inning tally that resulted from an error.

Amanda Woods (1-0) was the winning pitcher of record, as she pitched four innings in relief for the Bruins.

GM 2: George Fox 7, Dallas 0 (F/7): Box Score

Chloe Campise (Lewisville, Texas) started on the hill for Dallas in the back-end of the doubleheader.

The freshman righty surrendered a triple to Felicia Chavez to start the game.

Chavez -- who ended with two triples -- scored when the ensuing batter Kat Hylton singled down the left-field line.

Dallas trailed 1-0 after three innings, but George Fox erupted for six fourth-inning runs to hand Campise (0-1) the loss.

All of Campise's runs were earned in the fourth as a result of five hits by the Bruins.

Lee pitched the final two-and-two-thirds for coach Krysiak's squad.

The navy and white were two-hit by Allyssa DenDekker (2-0).

She struck-out two and walked another in the complete-game shutout.

Pickert and Tesauro accounted for the Lady Crusaders' hits.
