Softball comes 'full circle' for Coach Conner and her sister Taylor Mosher, as Oklahoma Christian University pays visit to Dallas Softball on Thursday

IRVING, Texas - On Thursday, Feb. 17, University of Dallas Softball head coach Amber (Mosher) Conner will oppose her sister Taylor Mosher via the softball field, as Oklahoma Christian University (OCU) heads to Crusader Field for a 3 p.m. doubleheader.

Taylor Mosher, a 5-foot-9 pitcher from Flower Mound, Texas (Flower Mound H.S.), had this to say about facing her sister's Dallas squad:

"I'm excited that my first college start is against my sister. I'm glad although I'm not playing with her, I'll at least have her on the field with me. It means the world."

Adding to this intrigue is the fact her sister, head coach Amber Conner, was a well-accomplished player for OCU before graduating in 2002 by way of Southwest Texas State University (Texas State University) and New Mexico State University. Coach Conner even began her coaching career as a graduate assistant with OCU.

As a pitcher for the Lady Eagles, Coach Conner led the team to the 2002 National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament, where she was honored as an NAIA All-American. She was also named to the NAIA All-Tournament Team, and selected First Team NAIA All-Region, as well as First Team All-Sooner Athletic Conference.

She continues to hold multiple OCU school records, including 41 consecutive scoreless innings pitched. She currently ranks twelfth in fewest walks allowed per year in NAIA history.

Coach Conner had this to say about her sister Taylor and the Lady Eagles coming to town:

"I am very excited to host Oklahoma Christian on Thursday. Not only am I so unbelievably proud that my sister has followed in my foot steps as a collegiate athlete, but I am also very proud to have finished my career as an OCU Softball player. Tomorrow is one of those full circle moments."

The University of Dallas softball team looks to rebound against OCU after dropping their first two games of the season at home on Saturday, Feb. 4, against Hutson-Tillotson University.

Meanwhile, OCU travels to Irving with a 1-0 record thanks to a 12-1 triumph over Friends University (Kan.) on Thursday, Feb. 9. Adding yet another dynamic, current Lady Eagle head coach Tom Heath coached Coach Conner at OCU.
