Three Lady Crusaders set to be honored, as Softball celebrates 'Senior Night' on Wednesday, April 13, in a doubleheader with LeTourneau University

The University of Dallas softball team looks to send its seniors -- Meghan Frost, Cheryl Hinze and Theresa Smart -- out in style on Wednesday, April 13, as the team hosts a doubleheader versus LeTourneau University on 'Senior Night' beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Meghan Frost, the daughter of Michelle and Brendan Frost, is a Theology major from Bandera, Texas/Northshore H.S. Also an established defender on the Women's Lacrosse team, Meghan is in her first year as a member of the softball team.

A mainstay at catcher for head coach Amber Conner's squad, Meghan has appeared in 22 games for Dallas. She's developed a keen eye at the plate, walking 12 times on the season, which ranks her second on the team.

Theresa Smart, the daughter of Kathryn and Stephen Smart, is Politics/Spanish double-major at the University of Dallas, and hales from Peoria, Illinois/Richwoods H.S. A two-time Dallas 'Athlete of the Year,' Theresa, in her senior year, joins the softball team for the first time in her UD tenure, as she's been involved with the Cross Country program.

Playing in 17 games in 2011, Theresa primarily holds fort as the Lady Crusaders' right-fielder.

Cheryl Hinze, the daughter of Lois and David Hinze, is a Biology major from Houston, Texas/Langham Creek H.S. A soon-to-be three-time letter winner for the Lady Crusader softball team, Cheryl, a two-sport athlete, has started all 29 of Dallas' games on the season, playing second base as well as pitcher.

Currently, Cheryl boasts a .338 batting average and a .459 slugging percentage, while registering a career .319 batting average, thus far. This year, she ranks top five in many of the UD statistical categories, having scored 26 runs, doubling five times, tripling two times and stealing 15 bases, in addition to knocking in 13 RBIs. On the mound for Dallas, Cheryl is the winning pitcher on record in half of the team's victories on the season.

For those unable to make it out to Crusader Field, both games will be streamed online via collegetvticket.com for your viewing entertainment. The 'Senior Night' ceremony will also be captured, and will take place at the conclusion of Game 1.
