Dallas Softball Loses to Austin College in Heartbreaker

In the first game of a double-header against Austin College, the Dallas softball team was defeated narrowly, 8-9. Early on it appeared as if UD was going to gain the victory, as they were ahead 6-1 in the top of the 6th inning. From that point on, the UD bats cooled down, and they were only able to drive in two more runs. The Roos eventually tied the game up with a 5 run 7th inning, scoring the decisive run in the bottom of the 8th to secure the win.

As a team the Dallas managed 14 hits in their most productive game at the plate. They were led by senior pitcher/infielder Whitney Thomas (Fort Worth, TX/Nolan Catholic) and freshman catcher/infielder Brittany Castro (Houston, TX/Langham Creek H.S.), both of whom had 2 hits and 2 RBI. Thomas also pitched 3 innings, giving up only 1 earned run.
