UD Softball Loses Opening Games

The UD softball team lost their first two games of the season 10-1 and 6-1 against Concordia University in Austin, TX on Sunday, February 14. With only five returning letterwinners and a plethora of young talent, it is only a matter of time before the Crusaders get rolling

In the first game, freshman infielder Morgan Smith (Irving, TX/Bishop Dunne H.S.) went 1-3 during her first game of college ball and scored the only Dallas run, however the deficit was too large. The second game went better as the Crusaders worked together as they tried to make up for the first loss. Sophomore outfielder Jessica Mollner (St. Paul, MN/Convent of the Visitation School) scored the lone UD run.

The team got off to a slow start during their opening weekend, but is confident that their season will progress with more wins as they continue to grow. Their next game will be a doubleheader against Austin College on Wednesday, February 17 in Sherman, TX.
