Dallas Takes Third at UD Invitational

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas men's cross country team hosted the UD Cross Country invitational on Saturday, placing third with a total of 84 points.

The men managed to get out on the course for the 5k before the temparature played a factor, but the course provided more than enough challenge on its own.  Nico Walz once again led the way for the Crusaders, placing 23rd with a time of 18:42.6.  The rest of UD's runner finished in a relatively tight pack.  Tanish Garg and James Latour finished 30 seconds apaart  in 31st and 33rd, while Caleb Clayton and Paul Simko were just three seconds apart in 35th and 37th.  Andrew Kamp rounded out the pack with a time of 23:07 in 39th.

With 22 runners in the field, UTD nearly swept the top 10, taking placed 2 through 15.  Henry Hasz of Southwestern Assemblies of God took first place with a time of 16:42.7.

The Crusaders have a long break before their next meet.  They will be back in action on Friday, September 23 at the Concordia Classic.
