Men's Track Reaches New Highs at Hendrix Alumni Invite

CONWAY, Ark. - The University of Dallas men's track and field team competed in the Hendrix College Alumni Invitational on Saturday.

The Crusaders had six athletes compete across six events.  

Joseph Rodda and Caleb Clayton both competed in the 800m and 1500m races.  Rodda posted a 2:22.82 time in the 800m, and a 5:02.37 time in the 1500m.  Clayton ran the 600m in 2:27.47 and the 1500m in 5:00.46.

James Latour was the lone runner in the 5000m race, posting a season-best time of 18:34.91.

Liam Hamway, Julio Lima, and Gabriel King competed in the discus, javelin, and shot put.  Hamway qualified for the final round in the shot put, posting a new PR with a mark of 10.18m for a seventh place finish. He also achieved marks of 25.45m in the discus, and 26.50 in the javelin.

Lima poasted a new PR in the javelin with a mark of 28.89 to finish in fifth place.  He also achieved marks of 8.68m in the shot put and 25.85m in the discus.

 

"This was another great meet for the team; the athletes were more relaxed this time around and had lots of fun again," said head coach Nick Schneigert.  "The team chemistry is there.  We will take a week off, and now that we've had a few meets under our belt  I am exited to seee how things turn out at our next meet."
