Successful Outing for Crusaders at Houston Alumni Invitational

HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Dallas competed at the Houston Alumni Invitational  at the University of Houston on Saturday.

It was a bit of a light day for the Crusaders, who opted to compete in just four events, half of what they ran in the Dan Veach Invitational last week.  It seemed to translate to soome success, as five Dallas athletes recorded new PR's on the day.  Caleb Clayton shattered his previous record in the 800 meters by nearly 15 seconds with a final time of 2:17.54.  Cayden DiSarro and Matt Holloway each recorded PR's in the 100 meters  with times of 12.85 and 13.47, respectively; Harland Acker led the Crusader pack with a time of 12.26.

DaShaun Merritt set a new PR in the 400 meters with a time of 53.64, with Acker making his collegiate debut in the reace and leading the Crusaders once again with a time of 52.13.  Though they were pounded by the midday heat once again, Nico Walz and Lames Latour put in solid times in the 1500 meters, finishing in 4:39.72 and 4:40.54, respectively.
