Crusaders Show Their Grit at TSU Relays

HOUSTON, Texas - The University of Dallas men's track and field team wrapped up competition in the 70th annual TSU Relays on Saturday.

DaShaun Merritt, Uniikye Washington, and Chris Easterday each ran the 200 meters; Merritt hit a PR of 24.23, Washington finished in 24.66, and Easterday in 25.57.

James Latour and Nico Walz ran the 1,500 meters; Walz finished in 4:56.47, and Latour recorded a PR with a time of 4:40.45.

The 4x400 meter relay team also competed for the first time this season, finishing in 4:01.55.

"Coaches always say cross country is a year-round sport, and James is a perfect example of what happens when you do summer workouts; he even took classes over summer to lighten his load while he is in season for cross country and track.," said head coach Nick Schneigert.  "James is easily one of the most improved runners on the team, and I am looking forward to watching his continued development."
