UD Men's Track and Field Compete at McMurry Warhawk Challenge on Saturday; Last race until SCAC Championships

ABILENE, Texas - The University of Dallas men's track and field team competed in the McMurry Warhawk Challenge on Saturday. Ryan Conner (Overland Park, Texas) and Logan Byrum (Kingsburg, Calif.) led the way for the Crusaders with a trio of PRs. Conner improved his time in the 1500m run by almost three seconds, recording a time of 4:42.75 in the event. Byrum increased his distance in shot put by over half a meter, logging a mark of 10.41m (34'2"). Byrum also PRed in the javelin throw, increasing his mark by over three-quarters of a meter with a distance of 32.40m (106'3").

Jonathan Cantu (Dallas, Texas) was the fastest distance runner of the day for Dallas, debuting in the 1500m with a time of 4:33.92. Nicholas Walz (Irving, Texas) and James LaTour (Lubbock, Texas) also competed in the 1500m finishing with times of 4:39.30 and 4:54.61.

Max Crowder (La Marque, Texas) ran in the 200m dash finishing with a time of 23.22.

Middle distance runner Luke LaCour (Metairie, La.) ran 2:08.86 in the 800m and Sam McClard (Flower Mound, Texas) threw 12.31m (40'5") in the javelin throw on Saturday.

The McMurry Warhawk Challenge was the final regular season meet of the season for UD. The Crusaders will travel to Seguin, Texas on Friday and Saturday, April 23-24, for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championships hosted by Texas Lutheran University.
