Crusaders Men's Track & Field Competed at TLU DIII Challenge on Saturday
SEGUIN, Texas - The University of Dallas men's track and field team competed in the TLU DIII Challenge in Seguin, Texas on Saturday.
Crusader freshman Luke LaCour (Metairie, La.) had a big day in the 800m shattering his previous PR by over six seconds with a finishing time of 2:05.40.
Max Crowder (La Marque, Texas) improved on his time in the 200m dash from last week at TSU running a time of 23.19 wind-assisted.
Sam McLard (Flower Mound, Texas) also improved on his 200m time running a wind-assisted time of 31.27. McLard also debuted in the javelin throw with a distance of 14.50m (47'7").
Logan Byrum (Kingsburg, Calif.) set a new PR in shot put with a distance of 9.80m (32'2"). Byrum also debuted in the javelin throw with a distance of 24.70m (81'0").
A trio of Dallas runners competed in the 1500m run. Nicholas Walz (Irving, Texas) had the top time for UD and debuted in the event with a time of 4:36.23. Ryan Conner (Overland Park, Kan.) also debuted in the event with a time of 4:45.39. James LaTour rounded out the event with a time of 5:00.63.
LaCour, Crowder, Conner, and Walz competed for Dallas in the 4x400m relay improving the team's best time this season to 3:54.19.
UD is off this upcoming week. However, the Crusaders will be out to compete again on April 10 when they travel Commerce, Texas for the East Texas Invitational.
