Giadolor and James take 3rd in 100 Meter Dash and Steeplechase at Hardin-Simmons Invitational

ABILENE, Texas – The University of Dallas men's track and field team competed at the Hardin-Simmons Invitational on Saturday. The Crusaders witnessed a couple Personal Records (PRs) and looked to build some more towards the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship that is nearly a month away in San Antonio, Texas.

NOTABLE RESULTS

- Prince Giadolor (Rockwall, Texas) shined for the team in the 100 Meter Dash by finishing third with an 11.25 second time. It is his highest individual finish in the third race this spring.

- Frank Villanueva (Anthem, Ariz.) set a PR in the 1500m by shaving over 16 seconds off exactly (4:59.07) his previous best.

- John James (Metairie, La.) ran in his first ever 3000m Steeplechase and garnered third with an 11:14.19 time. James also got 11th in his 3000m track debut with a 10:06.74. This is the first competition UD has been in this spring to offer the event.

- Kevin McGuirk (Front Royal, Va.) notched a PR in his second consecutive week of performing the Triple Jump (10.77m). The sophomore added to his list of events this season to debut in with the 110m Hurdles.

- Paulo Salazar (Dallas, Texas) claimed eighth in the Shot Put with a 10.81m throw.

UP NEXT

After a weekend off Dallas returns for the third straight competition hosted in Abilene. McMurry University hosts again on Apr. 13 with the McMurry Open.
