Men's Track and Field Completes Trinity Open

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – On Saturday, the University of Dallas men's track and field team competed in the Trinity Open. This meet featured all fellow Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) foes except Colorado College. Additionally, NCAA Division II, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA),

This was the first competition for runners participating in the open races since the 2017 season debut for the Crusaders was an all-relays hosted at Texas Lutheran a week ago.

NOTABLE RESULTS

- Leading Dallas in his career debuts for the 200 Meters and 400m Hurdles was Kevin McGuirk (Front Royal, Va.) with respective marks of 24.86 and 1:05.75.

- John James (Metairie, La.), who finished top two for UD as a cross country runner in every race this past fall, debuted in the 1500m with a 4:45.82.

- Nic Kwan (Belton, Texas) completed the trio of runners making career debuts by going in the 100m and 200m.

- Dominic Del Curto (Oakdale, Calif.) and Thomas Pierick (Des Moines, Iowa) ran in the 400m Hurdles and 200m the first time this season. The tandem are veterans on the events.

- In the field Paulo Salazar (Dallas, Texas) threw a 10.47m in the Shot Put and 31.85m in Discus.

- Marcos Carmona (San Antonio, Texas) followed Salazar in the Discus with a 30.66m toss.

- Will McEvoy (Dallas, Texas) made his debut throwing the Javelin with a 22.51m mark.

UP NEXT

Dallas will compete in the Marc Randle Classic hosted by University of Texas at Tyler on March 3. The Crusaders last competed in this competition in 2015.
