Doherty helps Men's Track and Field eye respectful results at Texas-Tyler Invite

BULLARD, Texas – The University of Dallas men's track and field team notched solid results in the Marc Randle Classic at Tyler, Texas, on Friday.

Two players managed personal records (PRs) for the Crusaders, which were sophomore Keven Doherty (Lenexa, Kan.) and junior Zach Zendt (Tacoma, Was.) in the 1500 meter.

Doherty crushed his previous mark with a 16:28 time on the 5000 meter, and also etched a career-best 4:23. Zendt ran a 4:40 to hit a career-high in the 1500 with Doherty. 

Another UD member on the 1500 meter event set his best result with a 4:40 time.

Freshman Cameron Mitchell (Fort Worth, Texas) and junior Ryan McAnany (Kansas City, Kansas, added top five rankings on the 1500 meter and triple jump, respectively. McAnany posted a 4:13. Mitchell hurled 38' 7.5'' in the triple jump to notch his ranking.

Sophomore Paulo Salazar (Dallas, Texas) finished seventh on the discus throwing event.

Dallas will be competing next on March 20 in the Walt Disney World Track and Field Open at Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
