Men's Soccer Defeated by UTD

September 21, 2023

RICHARDSON, Texas - The University of Dallas men's soccer team lost their non-conference match against the University of Texas-Dallas 4-0 on Thursday, falling to 1-5-1 on the season.

The Comets were in control from start to finish, netting the first goal of the game inside of the first four minutes.  The Crusaders bounced right back and nearly equalized twice in the span of a minute with shots on goal by Luke Wilmington and Clayton Porto.  Instead the Comets doubled their lead not even four minutes after their first goal, handing the Crusaders a very early 2-0 deficit to overcome.

Though UTD were the dominant side in terms of possession and chances created, the Crusaders did not buckle under the pressure for the remainder of the first half and managed to go into the half with just the 2-0 deficit.

UTD resumed their blitzkrieg in the second half and were rewarded with their third goal of the match in the 55th minute.  Once again, UD responded positively after conceding and carved out a chance of their own soon after the kick-off, but Sebastian Coleman's effort sailed wide right of the net.  The Comets put the nail in the coffin with goal number four in the 76th minute, handing UD their fifth loss of the season.
