Crusaders Fall to Centenary

SHREVEPORT, La. - The University of Dallas men's soccer team lost their conference matchup with Centenary College 2-0 on Friday.  They fall to 2-8-2 on the season and 0-4 in conference play.

The Crusaders started brightly and were the more threatening team in the opening minutes.  They created a couple of opportunities from outside the box off an early corner kick, but couldn't find the back of the net.  Instead, the Gents would open the scoring in the 7th minute after being on their heels for much of the opening proceedings.  Anotonio Gachiniero had the chance to level it up almost immediately, but his shot from outside the box would sail wide.

Dallas continued to test the keeper throughout the first half, but would go into hafltime down 1-0.

The two sides traded blows in the second half, both creating chances but neither finding the back of the net.  Ben utz had one of the best chances of the match from a corner kick in the 63rd minute, forcing a double save out of Centenary's keeper.

In an instant, the game was turned on its head.  The Gents were awarded an indirect free kick from the edge of the six yard box after it was determined that Uday Agarwal picked up and intentional pass back by Nick Moran, a decision that was vehemently protested by the Crusaders.  Centenary capitalized on the opportunity, and suddenly Dallas were down 2-0 in what was a very even game.  The Crusaders would test the keeper twice in the time that remained as the Gents were able to record the win.
