Two First Half Goals Give Hendrix the Win

CONWAY, Ark. - The University of Dallas men's soccer team lost their non-conference matchup with Hendrix College 2-1 on Sunday.  They fall to 2-2-2 on the year.

The Crusaders started brightly and were the more threatening side in the opening 10 minutes.  JC Salinas was able to test the keeper in the seventh minute, but his effort was saved and the game remained scoreless.  Hendrix then shifted the momentum in their favor, forcing four saves out of Anthony Gonzalez in the span of five minutes and remained very much on the front foot for the remainder of the first half.  The Warriors finally got their reward with the opening goal in the 35th minute, then made it 2-0 with a goal at the stroke of half time.

Dallas came out with more energy in the second half and would cut the deficit in half with a goal by Luke Wilmington in the 81st minute.  The Crusaders would have a couple more chances on goal before the match was out, but were unable to find the back of the net as Hendrix saw out the win.
