Explosive First Half Gives Tigers the Win

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas men's soccer team lost to Colorado College 4-0 on Sunday.  They fall to 2-1-1 on the season.

The Tigers mounted pressure on Dallas almost immediately, with four corner kicks in the first five minutes alone.  Each corner felt more dangerous than the last; though they hadn't generated a shot on goal, the height advantage was clear and the Crusaders had to fight desperately to keep the game scoreless in the opening minutes.

However, the dam finally burst in the ninth minute, as the Tigers took a 1-0 lead from their fifth corner kick of the game.  The Crusaders responded well and were able to find some relief as the ball spent some time away from their defensive third, but 12 minutes later Colorado made it 2-0 from their seventh corner kick of the match.  Three minutes later made it 3-0 from corner number nine.

The fourth goal came from the run of play in the 39th minute with Rex Karjian having a shot from 12 yards out having come down the left wing.  The ball took an unfortuante deflection off the chest of a UD defender that sent the ball sailing into the top corner, going down as an own goal.

Dallas came back in the second half and fought to a 45 minute stalemate, closing up the gaps in defense but unable to cut into the deficit.
