Men's Soccer Streak Snapped With Tight Loss to Coe College

DULUTH, Minn. - The Crusaders are off to their best start since 2016, but their three-game wining streak was snapped today with their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Coe College.

The Kohawks put their mark on the game early, netting the first goal of the match inside the first five minutes.  Less than seven minutes later they scored again, establishing a 2-0 lead after 10 minutes.

The Crusaders were able to pull one back before the half was out, with Ethan Sampson scoring in the 34th minute via an Alex Melgoza assist.

After failing to test the keeper for much of the first half, UD came surging back in the second half, outshooting the Kohawks 8-4 and forcing three saves from their keeper.  Their were getting themselves into dangerous areas, and managed to tally four corners in the half as they searched desperately for the equalizer.  Despite a pair of chances in the final 10 minutes, the Crusaders couldn't find the back of the net, the Kohawks able to hold on to the 2-1 win.
