Reynolds and Taylor Named 1st Team All-American; Carlin and Ciancone Make 2nd Team

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced its All-American award winners for men's soccer division 1 and 2. The University of Dallas, who is among the division 1 program, placed four players with honors. Chase Reynolds (Southlake, Texas) and Sean Taylor (Austin, Texas) highlighted the First Team All-American group for UD, while Sean Carlin (Puyallup, Wash.) and Andrew Ciancone (Houston, Texas) were tabbed Second Team All-American.

This release presents the most All-Americans that the Crusaders have logged in school history, with all four nominations being selected laurels.

Reynolds produced team-highs in goals (4) and points (12) with the latter column being the only one to reflect double figures in for a UD individual on the team. He also led the squad for consecutive seasons in assists (4) to give the sophomore 11 for his early career. He also played a difficult role in the midfield having to often shift back defensively as well. Dallas surrendered just three goals through the first eight contests and notched five shutouts overall.

Taylor, the other First Team All-American recipient, was another big factor to the defensive back line. Offensively, the senior garnered his first collegiate goal in the season opener and ended up with a career-best three goals. One of those scores was a crucial goal in a 2-1 victory over Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Champions, Trinity University. That blemish was the lone one to nationally ranked Trinity in SCAC action.

Carlin repeated on the USAA All-American Team in as many seasons playing collegiate soccer. Carlin made First Team in 2017. A recipient of multiple USCAA Goalkeeper-of-the-Week Awards, Carlin was steady between the posts with a 1.32 Goals-Against Average (4th in USCAA).

Ciancone rounds out the quartet with his first career USCAA All-American Honor. The other senior in this list netted three goals on two assists for eight points. Ciancone has been able to kick four game winners.

Dallas finished 8-8 overall this season.
