COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Over two hours of delay due to lightening nearby played a factor in Friday's 0-0 draw for the University of Dallas men's soccer team at Colorado College. With the National Anthem completed, both teams left the field of play and retreated to shelter. Once back around a quarter after 5 p.m. local time, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) opener was able to be played for 105 minutes. Neither team could get a ball in goal and due to darkness at the field the match was called as a draw.

The Tigers (1-1-1, 0-0-1 SCAC) held advantages in most statistical categories on the evening. This included shots 19-10 and corner kicks 9-2. Dallas was outshot 11-4 in the opening half. The Crusaders were even with both squads getting a pair of shots in under 10 minutes from kickoff. Nat Kajiwara (Southlake, Texas), who finished with a game-high five shot attempts; punched the first two looks for UD wide in that stretch. The road team did earn both corner kicks in the first stanza.

Tied 0-0 out of intermission, the Crusaders only got outshot by one (5-4) as they repeated their total from the previous 45 minutes. Both sides drew yellow cards with under 10 minutes in regulation, but could not capitalize on the infractions. CC had the final two shots with Ethan Weslar being denied by Sean Carlin (Puyallup, Wash.), who earned his first career shutout.

Dallas (1-1-1, 0-0-1 SCAC) is quite familiar with overtime this campaign, as all three matches have made it that far. The most recent time UD had three straight matches go past regulation was in 2006. That stretch of matches was September 23rd-October 1st. These programs have tied six times overall now. It is only the second time for the teams to be knotted at Stewart Field in Colorado Springs. The other moment was a 1-1 result in 110 minutes on September 11th, 2015.
