No. 18 Colorado College scores 1-0 win on Dallas Senior Day

IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's soccer team (7-9-2, 4-8-2 SCAC) dropped its final match of the regular season at home to No. 18 Colorado College (15-2-1, 12-2-0 SCAC) on Saturday. After a scoreless first half, the top 25 ranked opponent just got a goal from Caden Mackenzie in the 73rd minute to seal the victory. It is the first time since 2013 a team in this matchup has won on Crusader Field. In 2014, the programs were deadlocked 2-2 and last season a rainy day resulted in a scoreless draw.

Dallas was limited to no shots in the first stanza, but the Tigers had also only attempted four. The second half picked up with opportunities for both sides, with 19 total attempts combined. After both teams exchanged shots off mark in the first ticks of the final 45 minutes, Colorado College kicked the next two shots on goal in the contest.

The first shots on target for the Crusaders came in the 58th minute. Barton Holdridge (Fort Worth, Texas) posted that result at the 57:04 mark and Hunter Haugland (Bixby, Okla.) kicked another one saved by CC's Theo Hooker at 61:51.

His counterpart in goal, Tino Gamueda (Lubbock, Texas) battled hard throughout the match, as he and seven others celebrated their final home matches of their careers. Gamueda responded to a trio of shots as the Black and Gold struck with a critical opportunity to break the deadlock around the 65th minute. CC's Tim Huettel took the initial shot that was stopped by Gamueda, but he could not contain it. Robert Malone was positioned well on two rebounds, but had his first attempt hit the cross bar and then the final chance soared high over for a goal kick.

Less than 10 minutes later, Mackenzie netted the game-winning goal after his shot from the right side of the field deflected off the fingers of Gamueda. The UD goalie dove behind to make a second effort on maintaining a crucial save, but the referee confirmed the ball had broken the crease.

- Luke Schwarz (Tucson, Ariz.), Holdridge, Nicholas Vega (Dallas, Texas), and Haugland registered shots on goal.

- Gamueda (7-9-2) nabbed eight saves, which tied a season-high that previously was done at home to close the month of September versus Austin College.

- Colorado College made 10 corner kicks compared to UD's pair. Both of the corners by Dallas were in the second.

- Malone led the team with three shots. A quartet of Tigers also had multiple shots: Huettel, Christian Wulff, Joel Frykholm, and Keenan Amer.
