THE LEAD

The University of Dallas men's soccer team (7-8-2, 4-7-2 SCAC) concludes the regular season on Saturday versus No. 18 Colorado College at 3:30 p.m. The Crusaders completed a four-game road trip 1-2-1 and are looking to improve on a 3-3-1 record at home. Dallas was topped 1-0 last Sunday at Centenary College on an own goal.

Dallas has secured the sixth spot in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) tournament, which will be hosted at Austin College November 4-6.

Prior to Saturday's kickoff, eight members of the squad will be recognized for senior day. This includes: Tino Gamueda (Lubbock, Texas), Austin Strain (Lucas, Texas), Stephen Gahan (Vancouver, Wash.), Tommy Byrd (Mansfield, Texas), Ben Mannings (Bath, England), Barton Holdridge (Fort Worth, Texas), Will Holloman (Las Cruces, N.M.), and John Langsfeld (Albuquerque, N.M.)


UD NOTES

- Luke Schwarz (Tucson, Ariz.) continues to lead the team offensively with his career-highs in goals (6) and points (17).

- Holdridge also is tied with Schwarz on the team lead in goals and has 14 points total.

- Chima Ogueri (Garland, Texas) has contributed three goals and five other players have multiple scoring results.

- That quintet includes: Andrew Ciancone (Houston, Texas), Hunter Haugland (Bixby, Okla.), Garrett Hammer (Colleyville, Texas), Jake Schnell (Austin, Texas), and Nicholas Vega (Dallas, Texas).

- Gamueda has produced 53 saves and has a 1.24 goals allowed average (GaAvg) through 17 starts. He has a .716 save percentage in 1,518:38 minutes in the goalkeeper role.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS

Colorado College (14-2-1, 11-2 SCAC) jumped two spots in the latest National Soccer Collegiate Association of America (NSCAA) polls for 18th overall. The Tigers sit second in the conference standings with 33 points.

Colorado College has won six straight matches, including its last three in one-goal fashion. Last Sunday at Austin College, the Tigers prevailed in a shutout. CC wraps up a five-game road trip in Irving on Saturday and is 5-1-1 away from the friendly confines.

Caden MacKenzie leads the team in goals with six. Tim Huettel matches him atop the squad in points with 15. Huettel paces the team in assists with seven. Joel Frykholm and Daniel Krueger have scored three goals apiece. Theo Hooker has logged 1,398:04 minutes in the goalkeeper position. He has notched 38 saves and ranks second in the conference with a .64 GaAvg and 10 goals allowed.

Colorado College Season Stats

In the earlier meeting this season at Colorado Springs, Dallas was blanked 2-0 thanks to a pair of first half goals. MacKenzie and Huettel produced the scoring plays. Hooker made four saves. Holdridge had two shots and one of the four shots on goal. Mannings, Ciancone, and Schwarz also placed a shot on frame.

The last two matches at Crusader field have resulted in draws between the two squads. In 2015, neither team scored in a rainy match.


UP NEXT

Dallas will be playing in the SCAC Quarterfinals next Friday. The number three seed is still yet to be determined.
