Holdridge Tabbed on CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

IRVING, Texas – On Thursday, the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team lists were announced. The University of Dallas men's soccer team placed junior Barton Holdridge (Fort Worth, Texas) in the group from District 8. The forward was tabbed with the honor for the first time in his career and is only the third player for UD to receive the accolade.

The last player to earn the recognition from the Crusaders was a fellow member of the men's soccer team from 2008, Bennett Rawicki. Dallas women's soccer player Madeline Brink garnered the award in 2005-06.

Holdridge holds a 3.59 GPA and is majoring in computer science at the University of Dallas. On the field, the native of Fort Worth, Texas, paces the squad with seven goals and 14 points entering the final two matches of the regular season. He ranks second in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) in goals scored.

Voting is conducted by members of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The Capital One Academic All-America Team will be announced November 21.

To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution  and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CoSIDA has bestowed Academic All-America honors on more than 20,000 student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
