IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's soccer team (9-5-1, 5-4-1) battled No.14 Colorado College (11-3-2, 7-2-2) to a 2-2 draw on Sunday afternoon. It was the first contest Dallas finished in a stalemate with an opponent this season.

Prior to the match, the Crusaders were on a five-match winning streak, the longest of the campaign.

It was a scoreless opening half, with neither team attempting more than five shots in the affair. Colorado College managed a slight edge, 5-4, but the defense for both squads tightly contained the box on both sides.

In the second half, junior Colton Allen (Roanoke, Texas) broke past the defense and collected a huge goal to put the navy and white in front 1-0 at the 58:39 mark. Senior Matthew Wise (Portland, Ore.) began the play with a stellar pass that gave the team's leading scorer a solid run to open up the scoring opportunity.

Colorado College's Stuart Beezly knotted things at the 68:30 minute mark, keeping the nationally ranked opponent in the contest.

In the 75th minute, Allen delivered again, this time punching an incredibly difficult shot that just beat the keeper sneaking into the upper left corner of the net. Sophomore forward Barton Holdridge (Fort Worth, Texas) was credited with the assist.

His netter was the second of the match, the first multi-scoring one the forward tallied this year.

Allen now boasts a team-best, eight goals, and the Crusaders are 5-1-1 when he finds the back of the net.

The advantage didn't last long, as the Tigers found the equalizer in the form of a penalty kick about three minutes later to tie things up and send the game to overtime.

Dallas was resilient on defense, preventing the visitors from scoring despite being outshot 10-1 in extra regulation.

Overall in the match, the Crusaders were led by Allen with four shots, followed by freshman midfielder Luke Schwarz (Tucson, Ariz.) with three. Holdridge and Wise added multi-shot efforts with a pair each.

Sophomore goalkeepers Tino Gamueda (Lubbock, Texas) and P.J. Hasson (Fairfax, Va.) split time between the posts each posting 55 minutes in the contest.

Gamueda drew the start and worked the remaining overtime frame. He did not allow a goal, recorded two saves, and faced eight shots. Hasson gave up both goals and faced 18 shots; turning away four of them.
