IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas men's soccer team (4-2, 0-1 SCAC) dropped a 1-0 decision to Southwestern University (SU) on Friday afternoon. In back-to-back matches, the Crusaders have been blanked by a goal, and in the last three contests the scoreboard has displayed 1-0.

In the conference opener, Dallas battled the Pirates (1-5, 1-0 SCAC) to a scoreless tie through intermission. The navy and white did outshoot its visiting opponent, 15-14, and held an 8-6 edge in the first half.

Still neither squad could net a goal until SU's Zach Faulkner succeeded on a Penalty Kick. The goal lifted the black and gold to a 1-0 advantage at the 54:02 minute mark and would be enough in the affair.

Sophomore goalkeepers P.J. Hasson (Fairfax, Va.) and Tino Gamueda (Lubbock, Texas) split the 90 minute contest with 45 apiece between the posts. Hasson faced 6 shots and collected two saves, while Gamueda (3-1) got tabbed with the lone goal allowed and faced eight shots.

In the game, five saves were grabbed combined, and none occurred in the second frame of the match.

Travis Carmichael (1-5) managed a complete 90 minute slate, compiling three saves in the shutout while facing 15 shot attempts.

Junior forward Colton Allen (Roanoke, Texas) paced the double-digit shooting effort with six total, including a pair on the target. Senior midfielder Matthew Wise (Portland, Ore.) followed with four shots a one shot on goal.

Also notching multi-shot attempts were sophomore forward Barton Holdridge (Fort Worth, Texas) and senior midfielder Nathan Nwaeze (Mansfield, Texas) with two.
