No. 1 Trinity University pounces Men's Soccer in SCAC opener, as Dallas falls 4-1 on the road

SAN ANTONIO – The University of Dallas men's soccer team (3-2, 0-1 SCAC) succumbed 4-1 to No. 1 Trinity University, as both teams kicked-off Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference-play Friday evening.

Trinity (7-0-1, 1-0 SCAC) -- ranked first in NCAA Division III -- controlled the ball early and often.

The Tigers roared to a commanding 3-0 advantage in the 66th minute, when Yuri Ribero beat senior goalkeeper James Kerin (East Greenwich, R.I.) for his second of the game.

Recording seven of Dallas' eight saves, Kerin was replaced in the 77th-minute by freshman John Mcleighton (Roswell, Ga.).

Prior to the bout with Trinity, Kerin's .244 goals-against-average garnered seventh-place nationally.

Senior midfielder Alex Lebl (Flowood, Miss.) helped the Crusaders avoid the shutout, when he found twine at 77:40 for his first of the season.

With an inability to sustain offensive attack, Dallas generated four shots on goal from nine total shots.

In the end, Trinity trekked to a three-goal victory. The ferocious Tigers paced to 40 shots, landing 12 on net.
