54th-minute score fuels Howard Payne University past Men's Soccer, 1-0
BROWNWOOD, Texas - In their second game of the season, the University of Dallas men's soccer team (1-1) succumbed 1-0 on the road to Howard Payne University (HPU).
Senior goalkeeper James Kerin (East Greenwich, R.I) managed five saves from six shots on goal, with the Yellowjackets (1-0) buzzing for 20 cumulative shots.
With heavy offensive pressure applied, the Dallas defense was forced into blocking two of HPU's targeted shots.
HPU broke the scoreless drought in the 54th-minute on a cross from Patrick Barker to Garrison Tate, who turned and ripped a shot past Kerin's right.

Dallas will play their next game and home-opener on Saturday, Sept. 8, in a 2 p.m. tilt versus Schreiner University (0-2).
