Men's Soccer 'gets it done' versus La Sierra

After falling to UC Santa Cruz 5-1 on Saturday, a regrouped University of Dallas men's soccer team (3-7) squared off with the La Sierra University Golden Eagles (4-7-1). 

This match remained scoreless until Ryan Meske (Niwot, Colo./Niwot H.S.) netted a goal in the 50th minute off a corner kick assist from junior midfielder Michael Chapman (Madison, Miss./St. Joseph Catholic School). 

Over two minutes after Meske's score, La Sierra drew things even thanks to an unassisted goal by Jose Moreno. 

The Golden Eagles, however, didn't have an answer for Meske, as the senior midfielder/forward notched his second goal of the match, this time in the 84th minute. 

With the 2-1 score holding up to the final whistle, UD ended their five game losing streak. 

UD goalie Sam Carter (Chicago, Ill.) earned the victory, stopping nine of ten shots on goal. 

The Crusaders will next be in action on Wednesday, Oct. 6, when they take on Mountain View College, at 4:00 p.m.
